This Privacy Policy describes how Culled ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application.
Culled is designed with an on-device-first architecture. All photo and video analysis — including similarity detection, best-shot scoring (sharpness, eye status, exposure), and video compression — is performed locally on your device. We do not upload your photos, videos, or their contents to any server owned or operated by us or any third party.
With your explicit permission (granted via Apple's Photos permission prompt), Culled accesses your device's photo library to:
This content never leaves your device. All processing occurs using on-device frameworks (such as Apple's Vision framework and Core ML). We do not have servers that receive, store, or process your photos or videos.
Culled offers a free trial followed by an auto-renewing subscription. All payments are processed directly by Apple through your Apple ID, in accordance with Apple's own privacy practices. We do not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or full Apple ID credentials.
We may receive limited transaction information from Apple (such as subscription status, product identifier, and renewal/expiration dates) solely to unlock the App's features for your account and to provide customer support if you contact us about your subscription.
Culled does not collect, store, or transmit:
We may use standard, privacy-preserving diagnostic tools (such as Apple's App Store Connect analytics or basic crash reporting) to understand app stability and performance. This data is aggregated and anonymized where provided by Apple's platform tools, and is not linked to your identity or your media content.
Because your photos and videos are processed entirely on-device, we have no access to them and therefore cannot use them for any purpose — including advertising, profiling, machine learning model training, or sharing with third parties.

We do not sell, rent, or share your photos, videos, or personal information with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers. We do not use any third-party advertising SDKs.
Culled relies on Apple's platform-level services (e.g., iOS system frameworks, StoreKit for subscription processing, App Store Connect) which are governed by Apple's own privacy policy, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Since your photos and videos remain on your device and are not transmitted to us, their security is governed by your device's own security settings (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, iOS encryption). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date.
Any limited subscription/transaction data or diagnostic data we may receive is handled in accordance with industry-standard security practices.
Culled does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age threshold in your jurisdiction). The App does not include features directed at children, and since no photo/video content is transmitted to us, there is no server-side collection of children's media. Subscription purchases require an Apple ID, which is subject to Apple's own age requirements and parental controls (e.g., Ask to Buy).
Culled offers a free trial followed by a paid, auto-renewing subscription (Weekly and Annual plans). The App does not display third-party advertisements, regardless of subscription status. Pricing, billing, and cancellation terms are described in our Terms of Service and are also displayed within the App before you subscribe.
If you use Culled outside of the United States, please note that because all core photo/video processing is on-device, your media content itself is not transferred internationally. Any limited subscription/transaction or diagnostic data may be processed via Apple's infrastructure in accordance with Apple's own data practices, which may involve international transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above, and where appropriate, through an App Store update description or in-app notice.
